Set in the near future, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance follows the story of the Infinite War, a brutal, three-way conflict between the United Earth Federation, the Cybran Nation and the Aeon Illuminate. Players choose which side to fight for, build an army and battle for control of the galaxy.

In Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, players can choose from three distinct factions to command, each with their own unique units and structures. Players can build massive armies and wage war on an epic scale. The game features a wide variety of units, ranging from the basic infantry unit, to massive battleships and even experimental units. The game also features an extensive research tree, where players can research and develop new technologies to give their armies the edge in battle.

In addition to the single-player campaign, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance also features an online multiplayer mode. Players can battle with up to seven other players or AI opponents in a variety of game modes. The game also features an in-game map editor, allowing players to create their own battlefields and scenarios.
